This costs money, I can't cover the bills, server will go down eventually.
That's it in a nutshell basically, written so any person can understand. What I could do is charge people for playing, but I would be no different then Rommie for charging people to use his mod... WHICH IS ILLEGAL BY THE WAY ROMMIE. Call it what you will, donation, whatever. The fact that anyone cant use it means your selling "your" application as a commercial, which the AVP2 license does not grant.
Anyways, my interest in AVP2 is waning severely. Alex will probably take over, LithFAQ will remain... I guess... Really no point though in seeing how Monolith is basically no more.
OK so the cost rundown. I run this on a VPS server. It is a PHP script (yes PHP). A shared host will not work as there is far too many limitation. The average cost for a VPS is around $40/month for a reputable service. Plus overages that DO occur. Plus the time involved to maintain such a server. The donation link has been there for a LOOONG time. So far the only people who have donated:

This was for quite a while... 4 donations, sad really. So in 2 years I've been supplying you with your game, I've gone through $960 that I will NOT be getting back.
OK, next up, anyone who wants to host the server and maintain it, contact us. Be warned though, if Alex (Herr_Alien) wants to continue it, he will have precedence over you since he is the main guy behind the project.
