I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get the online patch to work with XPx64.

I remember playing with the 1.2.3 patch, but for whatever reason I can't get the game to work anymore. I've tried the 1.4 installer as well as patching from 1.2.2 up to 1.4. When I go to find a server, it crashes, and I get an error message about lithtech.exe. The Neoconnecter doesn't work for me either.

Too bad, after playing the craptastic demo for the new game, I really wanted to play AVP2 again.

The neo connector was designed to work with the original lithfaq server, not this new host. So get rid of it.

And i would re-install avp2 and start over as some corruption may have occured. I cant see much of a problem with 64bit operating systems. I think the patch would work on both (but i am not 100% sure). If the previous patch worked, then im pretty sure this update will as well. And the new patch should fix any issues caused in 1.3. And the crashing your describing when searching for games happened on the 1.2.2 patch, but it was fixed with the 1.2.3. Maybe a fix is required for 64 bit operating systems but i would suggest talking to herr_alien about that. You could always try running the program in compatibility mode, maybe for windows 2000, or maybe disable your anti-virus and firewall to see if it works then, sometimes when programs change the antivirus or firewall can block things silently.

Try re-installing, updating with the 1.0.9.6 official patch, and then install the full 1.4 MS patch and make sure the command perameter is in place: -rez AVP2P5.REZ

If you still have the problem, hopefully herr_alien can share some light with this. Hope this helped.

All I can say is, my test machine and server was 64bit. I run Windows 7 64 bit at home also, no issues.

Neither Saviour 1.3 nor this new 1.4 works for me on XP64, Neo-Connector doesn't work either. It's being looked into, but it seems to be a troublesome issue to resolve.

You can support the effort by donating old underpants to The_One, as it sates his major fetish and allows him to assist McHerr in the Quest for Peace.

And what? You didn't like the AvP demo? It must have been the awesome Melee and superb Quick Tips system they have.

Uh well yeah, for me it's as much the fact that you don't know what the **** the story is with the melee system, even when you manage to score quick kills that aren't grabs, it doesn't feel like "Yeah! Take that!" it's more like "did I do that?", and not just because you don't know how, but you didn't see anything happen that would warrant such damage.

A better thought out demo is definitely needed, it's just dumb in so many other ways I'm not going to bother going into it.

I'm not saying the game is beyond redemption, but it's certainly lost my sale unless I see something more enjoyable.

Man, when people say that I feel like feeding them a turd in a bun, and when (if  ) they complain they don't like it, tell them they should make the effort to finish it by reason of their just being too used to beef.
