Hey all, new to the forums but not new to the game. Used to play awhile back and I wanted to start up again. My problem is I can go find servers, join them and get on with no issue but I can't host LAN or online servers. Everytime I try to host a game, at the loading screen it will crash and say "Discconected; You have been discconected from the server." Thus I am brought back to the main menu. I have found this odd because I have had problems hosting before but to send me back to the main menu when trying to host a LAN game. I found this odd because in the past I have hosted games before and would actually bypass the loading screen afterwards and enter the actual game. No one would be able to see my server in the server list but at least I could create the game regardless to test custom maps.

That being said I am not using any custom maps just the official up dates and I am running the latest version of AVP2 Savior. Also I have set my router to run DMZ Mode which is basically an application that should allow me to host without issue. It works on other games like Battlefield 2 and I believe AVP2 and Battlefield 2 used the same system. I have taken steps to disable windows firewall, UAC. I am running Windows 7 as well. I have tried making a customrez.txt file and editted the following info
[Rez]
Rez0="AVP2P5.REZ"
Still no go, just can't seem to host at all. If anyone can help me or at least point me in the right direction to solving this problem. I would greatly appreciate it. :)

  • If you want to run the custom maps on the Dedicated Server you need to load them with the customrez.txt add Rez2 = UMP2

    or whatever mappack you're using.
  • Also I don't think battlefield 2 and AvP2 run on the same system whatever you mean by that. They've been developed by 2 different companies and on 2 different software engines.
