Unfortunately, yes. Monolith made a providential "mistake" to release the sdk for AvP2, that's for sure.

Hi guys,

I found one potential issue that could explain the crashes. Archantosaurus, Mandalore, pikmintaro, please try the following download:

I found one place where I was dereferencing a pointer without properly checking it.
Please let me know if you guys still crash.

The 1.1 version also contains functionality to better determine the ping to the game server; because of this, retrieving the list of servers might take a bit longer.

Rommie, Andy, you might also want to check it out; the file changed is the ms_client.dll, and it might help if you encountered crashes with the servers.

Ok I tried that and it gave me the same error it still says


"Client MFC Application has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."


It didn't have any errors when installing so I have no idea what is happening but as long as I can get it working "Eventually" then I am happy.

Thanks for all the hard work and I hope I will be able to play again soon.


And I have no mods installed either the only thing on my command line thingy is "-rez AVP2P5.rez" and I'll keep it that way until it works so don't worry the game is reinstalled and that is the only thing changed on it (Besides the 1.0.9.6 Patch thing)

Hello just thought id share some info the server works great on my operating system at home im trying it out on my father inlaws computers he has 3 dells 2 of them have xp one has vista the one with xp i tested works great shows all the servers, game is playable on his faster dell here that im on it is 32 bit os 64 amd i put the latest patch the command line avp2 update and its only showing up with the russian bears server which is pass protected so cant tell if it works. Anyways thanks so much for all you guys have done im sure future updates patches will work with most systems eventually.

Hi all,

My problem is that when I want to find a game I can't look at the
server informations, I see only three names of the maps from all servers
and when I try to join the game there comes
that error "your world version is different from the server".

Can anybody help me,please.

That is usually caused by a non-standard map.

I have found an issue with the cshell.DLL included so far in the mod. If a AvP2 Fortress server is listed in the master server, regular clients searching for plain AvP2 servers have a good chance to crash.

The reason for this is that the game modes for AvP2 Fortress (Capture The Flag, Assault, War etc.) are not listed in vanilla AvP2. So, if in the following 3 hours you start crashing while searching for servers, do not panic: as soon as we'll finnish the beta testing for Fortress, you should be OK.

Meanwhile, we're also prepairing a new version, to correct this. We plan to correct as many crashes as possible with the new versions, so I strongly encourage everybody to install it after it is released. This will also be required because of the new cshell.DLL incorporated, making the new mod incompatible with versions 1.0 and 1.1: new clients will not be able to join old servers, and old clients will not be able to join new servers.
